Donna Summers “I Feel Love” has never been redone so I give him credit BUT.....it’s just Sam singing over Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotes music! The actually used the original music! Always loved that song and at least we’ll get to hear it more now but please, leave Donnas songs outta your mouth.
Their song “I Feel Love” was featured on Target’s Holiday ads
I didn’t know the song was featured on Target’s holiday ads until I finally noticed. It was the highest song that Sam Smith had ever sung since the choir part of “Stay With Me”.
Channeling Jimmy Somerville
LOVE this version of I Feel Love! Sam is totally channeling the Jimmy Somerville/Bronski Beat cover of this classic (circa 1984).
Sorry Sam......this ain’t cutting it! Takes guts to make a modern day remake of a 40+ year old classic. Unfortunately, it lacks the soul and passion of the Donna Summer original. As Simon would say: “It’s a NO for me.”
Donna Summer only!
No one can and will ever sing this classic like the icon and legend, Donna Summer RIP❤️ Giorgio and Pete how did you let this happen as co-writers?
And Target is using it for its holiday commercials, why? Or at least use the original, ask Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte and her estate for the rights. Use Donna’s version and make our Holiday 💕🎄
Target, take a hint. It’s not even a holiday song.
BTW Sam, How do you sleep? No pun intended.
It’s Still a Fun, Great Dance Song
Although I believe nothing beats the original, this isn’t so bad. There are obviously some serious Sam Smith haters posting reviews and I’m sorry to say most of them only capture the dislike of the artist and not necessarily a review of the track. The Communards remake (Jimmy Somerville) is better than this one. I agree this remake; however, misses the electrifying energy it should possess.
The newer younger generation will not even know what the original sounds like.
It took a few seconds for me to wrap it up in my head, but Sam Smith you have a huge club remake that will be new to this generation ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dreadful cover of "I Feel Love" is absolutely unnecessary when the influntial original is still available under the artist name of Donna Summer. If Donna had lived, this might have killed her.
